Inspired by chronology and authenticity, Tree Ring’s Natural History fountain pens are handmade from Douglas fir trees. The trees are harvested as part of a forest restoration project, which involves thinning unnaturally dense stands of smaller trees to preserve the overall health of older forests. The trees used to make these pens are chosen specifically for the appearance of their growth rings. Each pen is engraved with the years that each tree was born and felled, and this drop features the first Natural History pens made from trees harvested in 2015.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of nib size: fine, medium, or broad. Due to the nature of the materials used, barrel grain and overall appearance will vary.
The black titanium-coated cap features faceted sides with patterned engravings, and caps magnetically onto the pen body. Matching titanium coating on the clip, barrel end, and grip provides contrast to the natural wood of the barrel. The JoWo Berliner stainless steel nib is finished with the Tree Ring logo.
