Handcrafted by a small team of experts in Mesa, Arizona, the KarasKustoms collection of machined-metal pens offers durability, versatility, and writing comfort—available here with classic aluminum construction that proves black is the new black. Pick the model that fits your needs, from the super-compact EDK rollerball to the classic Ink fountain pen.
Note: At checkout, select the pen model of your choice: Bolt, Bolt G2 (both + $10), EDK, Render K, Fountain K (+ $21), or Ink (+ $40). The Fountain K and Ink pens are available with your choice of a fine or medium stainless steel nib.
Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, the Bolt features a pared-down, industrial aesthetic. It operates like a traditional click pen with a twist: The tip is deployed by way of a simple push and turn of the bolt mechanism on the end of the pen.
The standard Bolt is compatible with Parker-style refills only, though it’s capable of being modified for compatibility with other, shorter refills using the included plastic tubing. The Bolt G2 uses the popular Pilot G2 refill and features a longer front barrel section. For convenient carrying, both are fitted with a stainless steel clip, which can be removed with a hex key.
The collection’s smallest pen, the EDK measures just over 5 inches. The machined grooves, a KarasKustoms signature, provide extra grip and add visual appeal. A silent click mechanism complements the bulletproof pocket clip, another company hallmark. Each EDK comes with a Schmidt P8126 refill, which is known for its 1-year cap-off time and superior feel, and is also compatible with any standard Parker-style ballpoint refill.
The Render K has a screw-on cap and metal clip. At the top of the cap, a detailed knurled section adds to the industrial appeal. The Render K uses the popular Pilot Hi-Tec C refill, and will work with any Parker-compatible refill and G2 (or compatible) refill as well.
The latest addition to the KarasKustoms lineup, the Fountain K pen is more compact than its predecessor, the Ink, with a similar styling to the Render K. The screw-on cap uses triple-start threads to securely attach itself to the pen and to allow the removal of the cap with only 1.5 revolutions. A German-made Bock nib completes the package.
Born of KarasKustoms’s most recent Kickstarter campaign, the Ink fountain pen feels smooth and substantial in the hand, and is not designed to be posted. Its stout shape tapers on the barrel toward the flattened base. The cap has a polished metal clip affixed with two bolts, and unscrews to reveal a stainless steel nib.
