CompactPi - New addition to Romni Arcade Family
This is My new project. The CompactPi. As i made with my Almost Finished RomniArcade (Posted HERE on MassDrop Projects). This one i started and finished just in January 2019 ! :) As a New Year Holiday project. The main difference of Romni Arcade, is the size, the MUCH better screen (Now a digital screen, 800x480/60fps) and there not more the Arcade Controller. Because it's impossible to fit it here. And this one features a tiny and cute OLED screen that shows it's name all the time. ;) And works as a Battery and Power indicator as well. I will update that page soon with videos and more infos. :) That project is much more cleaner and easier to do than Romni, less parts, and easier assembly. So it's much more "ready" to become a Kit. It uses a RaspberryPi inside, of course. Battery powered, Headphone output, etc... In this post you can find 3D Renders of it and real photos.

Q: What do you do at Massdrop? A: Head of the Technology Community & Buying Manager for Tech, DIY Tech, and Photo.
Q: What do you like most about working at Massdrop?
A: That’s a hard question to answer, as there are so many great things about Massdrop. First, the people I work with every day are amazing! I have the pleasure of working with some of the most enthusiastic, creative, knowledgeable people that I have ever come across in the workplace. There is a great team environment here at Massdrop and everyone works together. The absolute best part about working here is bringing enthusiast-based products to a group of people who appreciate them. I know I love tech products as much as our community does, so it’s great to see them get behind certain products or get excited to see things they’ve been waiting on.
Q: How did you get into DIY tech?
A: I have done maker related projects since I was in the 7th grade taking my first shop class. Our first project was a motion sensor alarm kit. A minimal amount of soldering required and definitely a beginner's kit. However I really enjoyed it and was hooked.
Q: What are some of your favorite products in that community?
A: My favorite product is the Raspberry Pi Acrylic Retro Arcade Game DIY Kit. I also find interest in the Carloop Starter Kits, basically anything robotic and love the L3D Cube Kits.
Q: What are some of your other hobbies/interests?
A: While maker projects are for sure only a part time hobby my other interest include PC Gaming (Counter Strike), Basketball, Traveling pretty much anywhere. I also enjoy Snow Skiing, Fishing, being on the Beach and just about anything outdoors.
